Beauty

I believe in beauty. It’s everywhere. We just have to remember to look.

I believe in the power of art to remind us of beauty.

Beauty lifts us, for a moment, out of time. It lets us pause in front of the best of being alive.

Service

I thrive when I give, trusting that, in turn, I’ll be given back to.

Sometimes it happens, sometimes not.

I’d rather live in hope than disappointment.

I’m an idealist. I reckon cynicism is just emotional cowardice.

Connection

We’re interconnected.

Art helps us integrate with the world.

We connect across time and culture through art, music, dance and story.

Kindness

It’s really not hard is it?

Just be kind and respectful - to yourself, others and the world we share.

Nature

It’s our home. We don’t own it.

All living things yearn for life. We can support and care for them as they do.

We’re stewards, not masters.

Tithing

I donate 10% of the money I make through Fanad Art to organisations that do good in the world:

- alleviating poverty in Fanad
- supporting refugees to settle in Ireland (Donegal Intercultural Group)
- regenerating coastal landscape in Fanad (Fanad Coastal Group)
- emergency relief to those suffering through war, famine or natural disaster (focused on Gaza in 2025)

At the end of the year I’ll put an outline here of what donations I made and who I made them to.
